mobanmarketSt. Cloud State University senior Clint Poster (Pierz/Healy H.S.) has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 4.
Posted won the award by gaining his fourth tournament championship of the season at the Viking-Warrior Open in Fremont, Neb. on Jan. 2, Posted claimed the top spot in the 165-pound bracket at the Viking-Warrior Open with a perfect 4-0 record.
After a first round bye, Poster scored a 1:19 against Cole Bilbrey of Dickinson State. In the next round, Poster added a 20-5 tech fall win over Cooper Self of Midland. In the semi’s, Poster charted his second fall of the day with a pin at 4:10 against Joseph Weber of Briar Cliff.
In the championship bout, Posted won the crown with a 3-0 decision victory over Taylor Hodel of Dickinson State.
The top-ranked wrestler in the country at the NCAA Division II level this season, Poster owns an unbeaten 18-0 record this winter with 10 pins to his credit. This marked the second time that he has earned NSIC Wrestler of the Week notice for the Huskies.
