F4W NEWSLETTER: Figure Four Weekly: The next step in WWE’s Women’s Evolution
WWE’s “women’s evolution” took its logical next step last week as the company announced its first all-women’s pay-per-view. Aptly, the PPV will be called “Evolution.” It will take place at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York on October 28. WWE is hyping that over 50 wrestlers from the past and present will be involved, with Trish Stratus, Lita, and Beth Phoenix already advertised.

SUNDAY NEWS UPDATE
Our weekend show covering G-1, tons of WWE news including injuries, Mae Young Classic, UFC 227 and the aftermath is already up.
Arturo Hernandez, who wrestled under names like El Picudo and Devil Rocker in AAA, passed away on Friday from complications from diabetes at the age of 51. He was actually booked for a show the night he died, which was also his 51st birthday. Picudo was cousins with Antonio Pena and his father was Espectro I.
Week two ratings for World of Sport do not look good. The preliminary number for yesterday’s show was 609,000 viewers, down 34 percent from last week. The reality is they didn’t have anything that compelled people to return, and since the show reached an older age group, they were likely watching due to nostalgia, which never holds up long-term. The final number will probably rise slightly, but this could not have been a worse sign.

The announcement regarding television coverage of All In will be announced tomorrow during the Being the Elite show, although it may have been teased last night at the NEW show in Wappingers Falls, NY where they said the show would be on PPV.
Regarding Matt Hardy and questions about if his tweets are related to his retiring. As noted yesterday, he said that his lower back and pelvis are fusing together from all the punishment he’s taken in his career. He is in pain, not terrible pain and will be undergoing new rehab treatment that he hopes will help. Everything as far as what he’s doing is being played by ear but those were not retirement tweets, but they were to note that he’s not going to be wrestling forever either.
Ric Flair and fiance Wendi Barlow will be having a commitment ceremony next month in Florida.
For this past weekend, the most searched for term on the Internet was UFC 227, which had 1 million searches yesterday. That would be far more than expected, and you could come up with reasons. That’s usually, but not always, a good predictor for PPV and if accurate, the show did far better than expected. On Friday, the second most searched for term was Conor McGregor with 200,000 searches and fourth was Kane with 100,000.
WWE
Some WWE notes over the weekend. Roman Reigns was back on the road last night, after missing the Friday show due to being at Georgia Tech, his alma mater. Reigns & Seth Rollins beat Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre in the main event in North Charleston. Ronda Rousey teamed with Natalya to face Alicia Fox & Alexa Bliss. On Smackdown, even though neither were advertised in the listings, both Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton were on the road last night for the Smackdown tour.
The charity event for under privileged kids that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Titus O’Neil put together gave away more than 15,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, as well as food, vision, dental, sports physicals and immunization shots and more than 31,000 people attended.
Paul Levesque will be at the Toronto Fan Expo this month along with A.J. Styles.
UFC
An 11/24 show in Beijing, China, the company’s first show in the city, was announced for the Cadillac Arena. There are advanced tickets on sale in China right now. Endeavor China will be promoting the show.
