Update on Seth Rollins & Sasha Banks, Rawley Attends Super Bowl

Earlier this week, it was reported that both Sasha Banks and Seth Rollins did not wrestle on a live event in Saskatoon, Canada even though they were both advertised to be on the show. Both of them have since missed out on more WWE events, leading some to assume that they may be injured at the moment. The timing of the injuries could be catastrophic for both wrestlers since Rollins is set to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35 and Sasha Banks will likely team up with Bayley in a match for the Women’s Tag Team Championships at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view this month. A new update on the statuses of these two top stars from the Raw brand has just been provided.
According to Post Wrestling’s John Pollock, Rollins has now been pulled from several live event appearances and he likely won’t be working tonight’s Raw show either. The report notes that he will continue to do promos for the company but he will remain away from the ring for at least one month. The injury that Rollins is dealing with is unknown as of now. He’s had issues with his knee in the past, but Pollock says that his current injury predates his Royal Rumble victory. As for Banks, the same report says that she wasn’t cleared following her match against Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble. Despite this, she is still scheduled to team up with Bayley to take on Alicia Fox & Nikki Cross in a qualifier for the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at Elimination Chamber during Raw tonight.
It looks like the All Elite Wrestling roster weren’t the only wrestlers to be represented during the NFL’s Super Bowl game yesterday. Raw Superstar Mojo Rawley informed fans through social media that he was also in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia for last night’s game. The Super Bowl ended up seeing the New England Patriots defeating the Los Angeles Rams. Mojo’s close personal friend, Rob Gronkowski, just so happens to be a player for the Patriots, so Rawley attended the game to support his pal. Fans may remember that Gronkowski helped Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33. It will be interesting to see if these two ever reunite in the ring someday.

Friendships are temporary. Brotherhood lasts forever. At #SuperBowl2019 to support my brother @RobGronkowski. No chance I was missing this.
