mobanmarketThis past Saturday the Rochester Community and Technical College Yellowjackets started their competition schedule hosting the Yellowjacket Open. This was the largest field the Yellowjacket Open has drawn with over 170 wrestlers from NCAA II, III, and NJCAA schools.
The Jackets wrestled well placing eight in the top six. Leading the Yellowjackets were a trio of sophomores all earning runner-up honors: Alfred Daniel (Manhattan, NY) 165, Mason Hawkins (Farmington, MN) 197, and Luis Pinto (Prior Lake, MN) Hwt.
“The guys wrestled really well, and the level of competition at this tournament has been getting better and better. We have a great group and I look forward to working with them this year,” said wrestling coach Randy Rager.
The Yellowjackets compete next in the Luther Open on November 11th in Decorah, IA. Wrestling begins at 9:00 am.
