For months now, NXT has been moving along smoothly with Tommaso Ciampa serving as the champion of the brand. Ciampa has been the champion for months and has defeated the likes of The Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black, and most famously Johnny Gargano to retain his title. As seen on this week’s episode of NXT, #DIY reunited but lost in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. Ciampa tried to turn on Gargano all over again out of frustration, but “Johnny Wrestling” was wise enough to see the attack coming and give the champion a taste of his own medicine. Fans have naturally assumed that this must be leading to another Gargano vs. Ciampa title match at NXT Takeover: New York.
Unfortunately, Tommaso Ciampa is dealing with a neck injury which he just recently had surgery on. This has led some to assume that he will surrender the NXT title before leaving to recover from the injury. WWE has confirmed that Triple H will be appearing on NXT next Wednesday night to address the future plans for the NXT Championship. The belief is that Ciampa’s injury is major and he will not be ready to return to the ring for several more months. Triple H did already return to Full Sail University to reveal his plan for the NXT title earlier this week. His segment wil, he airing during next week’s episode, but for those curious to find out the answer right now, spoilers from the NXT tapings can be found elsewhere on the site.
Following the injury suffered by @ProjectCiampa, @TripleH will address the state of the #NXTChampionship this Wednesday on #WWENXT. @catherinekelley is here with the details: pic.twitter.com/mGFZ2WpVSC

WWE announced earlier this week that Harlem Heat (consisting of brothers Bookee T and Stevie Ray) will be entering the Hall of Fame this year. The induction will mark the second time that Booker T has gone in, who was already inducted for his solo career in 2013. While talking about receiving the honor this year with CultureMap, Booker revealed when his current deal with WWE expires. Although he no longer competes for the company, Booker said that he is signed with them on an Ambassador deal, which isn’t set to expire until 2029. Do not expect this soon to be two-time WWE Hall of Famer to go anywhere else any time soon. Booker also discussed injuries, his first spinaroonie, and possibly running for Mayor of Houston during his interview.
