mobanmarketWASHINGTON, DC — Attorney General William Barr is reportedly preparing to announce the completion of the Russia probe — and that announcement could come as early as next week. That’s according to CNN crime and justice reporter Shimon Prokupecz, who tweeted Wednesday afternoon that the plan is for Barr to soon submit a summary of the secret report to lawmakers in Congress.

The news comes as President Donald Trump prepares for a summit abroad with North Korean leader Kim Jon Un. In order to avoid interfering with the White House’s diplomatic efforts, the exact timing of Barr’s announcement could change.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation has dogged the first two years of Trump’s tenure and led to numerous outbursts from the president, who has repeatedly denied colluding with the country and called the probe a “witch hunt.”
CNN reported that workers in the special counsel’s office were seen hauling boxes out of the office, as well as pushing away cartloads of documents. Several prosecutors on Mueller’s team had also finished their tenures and resumed their previous duties in the Justice Department.
So far, the Mueller probe has resulted in 34 indictments and guilty pleas from both individuals and companies. That group includes six former advisers for Trump, 26 Russian nationals, three Russian companies, a California man and a London-based attorney, according to Vox. The allegations have ranged from election meddling to lying to the FBI to bank fraud.
Among the individuals swept up in the probe include former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former campaign aide Rick Gates, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen and, most recently, Trump’s longtime adviser Roger Stone.
