Erik Lamela has followed fellow Tottenham forward Son Heung-min in signing a new contract, committing his future to the club to 2022.

The Argentina international has suffered deeply with injuries over the past few seasons.
But after missing more than a year with a hip problem he returned to the Spurs team for the second half of 2017-18, making 22 Premier League appearances as Mauricio Pochettino’s men took third place behind Manchester City and United.
Now he has extended his stay at White Hart Lane for four more years after putting pen to paper on a fresh deal on Friday.
“We are delighted to announce that Erik Lamela has signed a new contract with the Club, which will run until 2022,” Tottenham signalled on the club’s official website.
“The 26-year-old joined the Club from AS Roma in 2013 and has since scored 23 goals in 154 appearances in a Spurs shirt.
“Erik made his comeback from injury last November when he came on as a substitute against Leicester City and went on to make 33 appearances in the 2017/18 season, scoring four goals including a brace in the 5-4 victory on the final day of the season against the Foxes at Wembley Stadium.
“The attacking midfielder also has 23 caps and three goals at international level for Argentina since making his debut in 2011.”
Lamela signed on the same day that South Korea’s World Cup star Son extended his own contract with Spurs.
The 26-year-old will stay at the club until 2023 after becoming a key part of Pochettino’s first team in recent seasons.
